The county of Tyneside sits in the North East of England and is home to a number of famous cities including Newcastle. The area has a number of great places to visit including castles, museums, lighthouses and other national trust heritage sites.
Newcastle Upon Tyne: Birthplace to the world famous Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean), the city has a vibrant culture and has won many different awards over the years. Newcastle has also played an historic importance part in the Roman, Anglo Saxon and Norman times. Home to three magnificent cathedrals, the city also presents many other beautiful buildings home to theatres, museums and homes the lovely locals.
Angel of the North: Flying high just south of Newcastle is the famous Angel of the North. First opened in 1998; the enormous art sculpture has symbolises the hard work of the coal miners for hundreds of years below the angel. It also signifies embracing for the future from the industrial to the information age. Lastly it also focuses on our hopes and fears in this evolving world.
Beamish Museum: Located in the town of Stanley in the County of Durham; the award winning Beamish Museum is a pragmatic open air museum which exhibits the everyday life in the North East of England since the 1820’s. Beamish is one of the few museums which allow visitors to get hands on with the magnificent objects on display. The museum offers many interesting and fabulous features which will take you back in time in getting the most out of this unique experience.
Hall Hill Farm: Step into the glowing pictures from the highly popular Instagram channel of the award winning Hall Hill Farm. Sitting on over 700 acres; the farm has been opened to the public since 1981 and has lots of fun and unique experiences for all ages whilst learning about the farming nature in this part of the country whilst getting up close to some rare breads.
